Rewilding Northshore — June 13, 2023
The concept of rewilding has attracted a great deal of attention recently as an approach to conservation and environmental protection. But what exactly is rewilding? How does it compare with more conventional approaches to conservation, ecological restoration, and environmental protection? And is it a useful framework in an urban context, for example, in the Northshore area? Panelists include: Jason Wirth (Seattle University, Philosophy), Warren KingGeorge (Muckleshoot Tribe Historian), Arthur Obst (UW Seattle, Philosophy), Linde De Vroey (University of Antwerp, Belgium, Philosophy and History), David Stokes (UW Bothell Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences, Ecology and Conservation), and Moderator Jeffery Jensen (UW Bothell Biology). The event is free; registration is required. Visit rewildingnorthshore.eventbrite.com to register!
The EERC will hold a Grand Opening celebration. More information and the exact date will be coming! It will be a wonderful opportunity to celebrate a major milestone in environmental learning opportunities for our park and our region.
